MAX7219 is a kind of integrated serial input / output common cathode display unit, it connects the microprocessor with eight-digit seven-segment digital LED display, it is also possible to connect the graphic line display or 64 independent leds. It includes a BCD type BCD encoder, multiplex scanning circuit, word period unit, but also a 8 * 8 static RAM is used to store the data of each.
