Stephen bestyBorn in Coventry, England on January 27th, 1961, he is an international illustrator of popular science books.
Besdie is an artist who can use superb visual art to depict phenomena. When he was a child, he spent a lot of time painting castles, knights in battle, ferocious Vikings. The films Spartacus, Ben Hur, Cleopatra and so on have inspired him a lot and added bricks to his imagination.
In 1980, he entered Brighton polytechnic school for further study, where he studied painting specialized in reproducing history, and showed a unique interest in painting deep into castles or other ancient buildings. He received a bachelors degree in graphic design at the school, and then continued to specialize in painting to reproduce history at Birmingham polytechnic school with a masters degree.
Stephen became a full-time illustrator after 1985, and has been painting all kinds of knowledge books for adults and children since then. It took him two and a half years to complete his masterpiece "incredible profile - big profile", which was very popular after it was published in 1992. This inspired him to create a follow-up "big profile series", including "battleship" (1993), "Castle" (1994), "incredible profile - flipping book" (1995), "incredible explosion" (1996), "incredible everything" (1997), "incredible body" (1998), "DK fantastic flipping 3D time column" (1999). Today, besty lives in Somerset, England, with his wife and son.
