The most common test used a single drop of solution to distinguish chromium, nickel contain and also detecting manganise in this alloy. The brassy color will show after a few second if Cr, Ni is present ( Without Mn ) beyond trace and identify stainless steel 304,304L, but if the solution drop show the other color that reacted by level of Mn contain in alloy it will identify the other low grade of stainless steel such 201, 202, 205, etc. It can be use for identify stainless steel sheet, Plate, Tank, Pipe, Wire, Valve, Fabrication and more.
