Doomsday is one of Supermans most powerful enemies and was created to match him on physical strength and power, he was originally written down as the "doomsday for Superman" and the writers used this as inspiration for his name. He is depicted as a deadly monster that had been genetically engineered from the depths of prehistoric Krypton, and the only emotions he had been imbued with are hate and destruction, his main reason for going around destroying any worlds in his path.
