Deca Atelier ก่อตั้งขึ้นในกรุงเทพฯ ตั้งแต่ปี 1993 โดย สมชาย จงแสง ผลงานของ Deca Atelier มอบประสบการณ์ให้กับการรับรู้ที่เหนือไปกว่าการใช้งานเพียงเท่านั้น แรกเริ่ม Deca Atelier พุ่งความสนใจไปที่งานออกแบบภายใน การค้นหาและการเชื่อมต่อประสบการณ์ด้านที่ว่างได้นำไปสู่การรับผิดชอบอาคารและการทำงานที่ค่อยๆ พัฒนาภาษาทางสถาปัตยกรรมอันโดดเด่น ที่ซึ่งขอบเขตระหว่างงานออกแบบภายใน สถาปัตยกรรม และสิ่งแวดล้อมทางธรรมชาติได้ถูกตั้งข้อสังเกตและค่อยๆ เลือนหายไป แสงสว่าง วัสดุ และรูปทรงถูกรวมเข้าด้วยกันเพื่อกระตุ้นการตอบสนองทางความรู้สึก ผ่านงานออกแบบที่เริ่มจากภายในออกสู่ภายนอก

Established and based in Bangkok since 1993 by Somchai Jongsaeng, the works of Deca Atelier are about providing an experience for the senses beyond mere functionality. Initially focused on interior design, the exploration and articulation of spatial experiences have led to building commissions and the practice to gradually develop a distinct architectural language, where the boundaries between interior design, architecture and the natural environment are questioned and increasingly blurred. Light, materials and form are combined to provoke an emotional response through designs that begin from the inside out.
