The adjustable back allows me to use less space, while still reading all fine.

There is a clear place guide with a blue line on it to keep your place and would be helpful if you loose your place while transcribing or reading.
The bottom is not only a much larger base, but has prongs to keep all the papers in place AND a rough area in the center to help keep them from sliding as well.
