2019 Vienna New Year Concert
It has been 80 years since December 31, 1939. Every year, it is a music event expected by musicians. Whether it is lucky to visit the Golden Hall in person, or enjoy it live with more than 50 million people in 90 countries, it is also a collection of video and audio treasures after the performance.
In 2019, German conductor Tillerman served as the annual conductor for the first time. He is the 17th annual conductor of Vienna Philharmonic and the second German music giant after Carlos Kleiber. Tillerman, 60, was born in Berlin in 1959. When he was young, he served as an assistant conductor of Karajan. Then he experienced in major German theaters and accumulated profound interpretation skills. Entering the 21st century, Tillerman quickly became a dazzling star in the classical music world. In 2004, he was the music director of Munich Philharmonic, the chief conductor of Dresden National Orchestra in 2009, the art director of Salzburg Easter Music Festival in 2013 and the music director of Beirut Music Festival in 2015. Now he has been recognized as an influential German Austrian conductor.
Since 2000, Tillerman has had a close relationship with Vienna Philharmonic. For the New Year Concert in 2019, Tillerman focused on the works of the Strauss family. However, six new pieces of music first appeared, such as the express Boca of little John and the express mail of his brother Edward; Little Johns opera "pasman Knight" and the famous "cheldas dance" have appeared four times in previous new year concerts, but another beautiful waltz "EVA" in the play is the first performance.
This year, we specially selected the works of Austrian composer Carl Michael ziehrer as the opening song. He was a strong competitor of the Strauss family at that time and the last court dance director of the Austro Hungarian Empire. The march of "xunfeld" by zierer is dedicated to Baron xunfeld, the Artillery General of the Austro Hungarian Empire. It is cleverly compared with the march of old John paying tribute to general radsky at the end of the concert. In addition, hermesberg, who enjoys the same reputation, performed his "dance of elves" in 2007, and his "Intermezzo waltz" appeared for the first time.
In addition, three major historical events 150 years ago were also carefully arranged in this new years concert. In 1869, Austria established diplomatic relations with the Meiji Dynasty of Japan, which had just opened the lock-in, and German and Austrian musicians were sent to Japan one after another, so they chose Josephs Waltz trade; In the same year, the Suez Canal connecting Europe, Asia and Africa was officially opened, for which little John wrote the march of Egypt. The Vienna National Opera House, which is closely related to Vienna Philharmonic, also opened in the same year. This year, it arranged the never performed Edward "Opera House Dance" francipoka, and invited the Vienna National Ballet to dance in the opera house, supplemented by the famous song "artists career" by little John.
In the past, Tillerman established an authoritative position with German and Austrian repertoires in the romantic period, especially Beethovens nine symphonies performed with Vienna Philharmonic from 2008 to 2010. At this years Vienna New Year Concert, Tillerman still carries on the proud glory of the Strauss Dynasty.
