เครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ด Honeywell Xenon 1950g เป็นเครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดที่พัฒนาขึ้นมาอีกระดับจาก Xenon 1900g สามารถสแกนบาร์โค้ดได้ละเอียดถึง 1280 x 800 พิกเซล หรือ 1 ล้านพิกเซล ซึ่งจัดว่าสูงมากสำหรับเครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดในปัจจุบัน มีการใช้หน่วยประมวลผลที่มีความไวถึง 800 MHz ซึ่งทำให้ Xenon 1950g สามารถอ่านบาร์โค้ดจำนวนมาก ได้ไวกว่า Xenon 1900g ถึง 2 เท่า
จากการทดสอบพบว่า Xenon 1950g สามารถสแกนบาร์โค้ดตัวเดียวกัน ได้ไวกว่า 1900g ในระดับที่รับรู้ได้ค่อนข้างชัดเจน และมีระยะการสแกนที่ไกลได้มากกว่า 1900g เล็กน้อย
Xenon 1950g จะยังคงรูปลักษณ์ในแบบเดิมของรุ่นยอดนิยมอย่าง 1900g โดยมีขนาดเครื่องภายนอก และหน้าตาที่เหมือน 1900g แตกต่างกันเพียงสีของโลโก้ Honeywell บนตัวเครื่อง จึงทำให้ Xenon 1950g สามารถนำไปใช้ได้กับ Accessories หรือ อุปกรณ์เสริมต่างๆของ 1900g ได้ โดยไม่ต้องซื้ออุปกรณ์เหล่านั้นใหม่
Honeywell Xenon 1950g เป็นเครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดที่ใช้อ่านบาร์โค้ดได้ทั้งแบบ 1D และ 2D ใช้ระบบการสแกนโดยเทคโนโลยีการจับภาพ ใช้การเชื่อมต่อแบบ USB หรือ keyboard wedge หรือ RS232 ได้ในเครื่องเดียว ง่ายต่อการติดตั้งและใช้งาน มีรุ่นย่อย 2 รุ่น คือ 1950gSR และ 1950gHD ซึ่งการใช้งานจะแตกต่างกันขึ้นอยู่กับขนาดของบาร์โค้ดที่ผู้ใช้จะนำไปสแกน แต่ที่นิยมกันมากกว่าคือ 1950gSR
