Purchase FAQ:

1. Are all the original books sold in the shop genuine?

Of course. All the books sold in the store are genuine original books legally imported through the book importer designated by the state;

2. Why do some books look rough, yellow or gray?

Most of the original literature books are printed on recycled paper,Recycled paper is a kind of paper produced with waste paper as raw material through more than ten processes such as sorting, purification, beating and papermaking. This kind of paper is relatively light, easy to carry and conducive to protecting the health of eyesight. Even if you read for a long time, you wont feel too tired (most domestic books are printed on white offset paper);

3. Why are some original books printed in China?

In order to save costs, improve timeliness and other reasons, the publishing house will arrange some original books to be printed in China (of course, the paper and quality of domestic printing are also designated and supervised by the publishing house). Our procurement can only be sold after passing the formal import declaration examination procedures;

4. How to distinguish the various binding forms of the original book?

Hardcover: the cover of the book is hard cover. When the new book was just published, most publishers published it in this form;

Paperback: the book cover is a soft leather cover. The paperback content of the same book is the same as the hardcover content, and the price is cheaper than the hardcover;

Mass Market Paperback: the paperback content of the same kind of books is the same as that of hardcover and paperback, and the size will be smaller (generally about 18 * 11cm). The typesetting is more compact than the above two kinds of binding and easy to carry;

5. How much is the format of the original book?

Original books do not have the same definition of size as domestic books. They are generally defined according to size. For example, the size of hardcover version of novel original books is generally about 24 * 16cm (equivalent to 32 Kai in China) and the size of paperback version is generally about 20 * 13cm (equivalent to 32 Kai in China); The size of paperback version is generally about 18 * 11cm (smaller than 32 opening); Of course, there are some special binding, and the specific size is also different. Please ask the waiter in the store for the specific situation;

6. Why are the covers of the same ISBN different?

There are a small number of best sellers published in the society. When the old version is still in stock, they republish the new version with a new cover. The old version and the new version are the same except for the cover. If you are very concerned about the cover, please confirm the cover with the waiter on duty of our store;

I you a happy shopping!

About the author:

Stephen Hawking (1942-2018), British theoretical physicist, founder of black hole theory and "Big Bang" theory, once served as professor of Applied Mathematics and theoretical physics at Cambridge University, UK.
Born in Oxford, England, Hawking has been determined to engage in physics and astronomy since childhood. After completing his degree in physics at Oxford University, he turned to Cambridge University for a doctorate in cosmology. During this period, he suffered from severe muscular atrophy and was imprisoned in a wheelchair for a long time, but he still continued to indulge in research. He successively put forward the black hole evaporation theory and quantum cosmology, which shocked the whole natural science community and was respected as the most outstanding theoretical physicist after Einstein. In 1974, Hawking was elected the youngest member of the Royal Society.
Content introduction:
In this book, Hawking leads the readers to travel in the strange field of outer space, introduces distant galaxies, black holes, quarks, "flavored" particles and "spin" particles, antimatter, "Time Arrow", etc. in simple terms, and expounds the ancient problems such as what the universe is like, space and time and relativity, so that the readers can initially understand the mysteries of cosmology such as special relativity, time and the origin of the universe.
The main contents of a brief history of time can be summarized as follows:
1. The starting point of time - the singularity of the big bang. The universe is expanding. It should shrink to a point at first. This moment is called the big bang. The density of the universe at this point is infinite, which is mathematically known as the singularity.
2. End of time - black hole. Due to gravitational action, stars will continue to shrink and form a "black hole". The surface gravity of the black hole is very strong, and time will end here.
3. How did God start the universe—— The origin and destiny of the universe. One is the origin of the universe called disordered boundary conditions, which is explained by the principle of human selection; Another explanation is called the "inflation model", which believes that the universe expands at an acceleration at the beginning of the moment, and the radius of the universe increases by 10 trillion times in a time far less than 1 second.
4. The unity of Physics - the ultimate theory. Human beings are seeking to establish a complete and coordinated unified theory applicable to every event in the universe, in which there is no need to select specific constants to conform to the facts.

Review

"This app/book version of Hawkings famous laymen book is just an amazing piece of learning. This makes much more accessible and understandable the complex and awesome topics dealt by Hawking as he explains how our universe works. I am just in awe at how creative he is to produce one of a kind e-book like this. The pace, illustrations and connections of topics within the book are so helpful and s o appropriate for the new generation used to tweets and small bites of information. You can flip over some topics when you have some time, learn some amazing fact, and come back later which no rush or worry about how fast you are progressing through the book. Hope other books on complex topics are translated to this format. And I love the updates of the latest science since the publication of the original book. We have learned so much in the last decade that I agree with Hawking, it is an honour to live in this times. " (Ribozyme)

"Master of the Universe... One scientists courageous voyage to the frontiers of the Cosmos" (Newsweek)

"This book marries a childs wonder to a geniuss intellect. We journey into Hawkings universe, while marvelling at his mind" (The Sunday Times)

"He can explain the complexities of cosmological physics with an engaging combination of clarity and wit... His is a brain of extraordinary power" (Observer)

"To follow such a fine mind as it exposes such great problems is an exciting experience" (The Sunday Times)
