Since 2013 photographer Mihaela Noroc has traveled the world with her backpack and camera taking photos of everyday women to showcase the diversity of beauty all around us. Map of beauty is a photography project initiated by Romanian photographer Mikaela noloz. Noloz traveled to more than 50 countries at his own expense from 2013 to 2017, and took portraits of local women, recording the diverse living conditions and rich beauty of women in the world. These photos have been posted on Facebook and instagram and received worldwide attention. At present, this project is still in progress.
"Map of beauty" contains more than 500 works of noloz. In front of the camera, they come from all corners of the world, from the tropical rainforest in to the streets of London, from the township market in India to the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. They have different hair colors, nationalities, occupations, ages and beliefs, and their beauty is different.
"I think beauty means to be yourself, true, natural, without affectation, and open-minded. Now there is too much pressure for women to dress and act in a certain way. In some environments, women are required to be humble and obedient, and the more they wrap their bodies, the better; in other environments, women are required to look sexually attractive.
