This creamy, fruity cocktail sauce tastes particularly delicious with crabs, scampi and other seafood, but is also suitable for preparing poultry salad and for dipping with crunchy vegetables.
We usually think of a cocktail as a delicious mixed drink made from several ingredients, either with or without alcohol. However, this has little to do with a cocktail sauce. It is not served with the drink, but with cold starters - the "cocktail". A distinction is made here between cooked crustaceans or shellfish, fish, poultry, meat or vegetables. A particularly popular appetiser is the shrimp cocktail, which is prepared with a creamy cocktail sauce. Incidentally, a refreshing end to the menu are fruit cocktails prepared with citrus fruits, melons and pineapples and marinated with liqueurs.
