Whatever your playing style the APX1200II gives you the opportunity to express your own playing style with incredible control and authenticity.
APX Body Depth : 80 - 90mm ( 3 1/8" - 3 9/16" )
APXs thin-line body combines incredible comfort, easy top-fret access and a sound perfectly suited to on-stage use with bright, clear mids, balanced highs and controlled lows. Specially designed non-scalloped X-type bracing allows the guitars top to sing and maximizes the resonance of the unique body shape for a full, natural tone. With dynamics, sensitivity and clarity built into the design from day one, APX is a guitar not to be underestimated.
APX Soundhole : Oval
The instantly recognizable APX soundhole thickens lower-mid response and gives a more strident, open low end.
SRT Delivers Amazingly Authentic Acoustic Tone
When professional guitarists want to record real acoustic guitar tone, theyll record the guitar with a microphone.
That holds true for guitarists who prefer using electric-acoustics on stage as well. Electric-acoustics are very effective in live situations due to their ability to adjust sound and balance volume with the other instruments in the band.
But the sound that electric-acoustics deliver is merely the amplified sound from a pickup attached to the bridge or the top, and lacks true acoustic resonance and ambiance.
True acoustic guitar tone that you hear on recordings only exists in the recording studio where experienced sound engineers have the means to capture that sound.
Yamahas new SRT system lets you create that same studio recorded sound.
The new SRT system lets you choose from three different high-end mic types as well as two mic positions that let you use techniques similar to those used in a recording studio. The system lets you choose from three different high-end mic types as well as mic positioning. It also lets you obtain more detailed sound by blending the sound with that from the piezo pickup and adjusting resonance. The SRT series brings studio quality acoustic guitar sound to the stage that will amaze your audiences.
The system also allows mixing of pickup and mic sound elements using the BLEND knob, and control of body resonance with the RESONANCE knob to create a wide range of rich, natural sounds.
Secret to Good Sound
The SRT system is powered by two AA batteries instead of the more common PP3. Using an internal circuit to boost the batteries voltage to 11V reduces distortion, even when the batteries are low, and creates a wider dynamic range. With traditional 9V designs, the voltage soon drops to 8V and gradually decreases from there (average operating voltage in a PP3 system is 7.5V). This lower voltage produces disadvantages such as unstable operation and distortion – especially noticeable with SRT’s studio quality tone. SRT’s power circuitry provides stable operation nearly up to the time battery power is depleted, giving you better tone for longer.
Whatever your playing style the APX1200II gives you the opportunity to express your own playing style with incredible control and authenticity.
